Source hierarchy
2026-06-22
- Current source batch is shown on the homepage. This methodology explains how records are reviewed and interpreted.
- Camera scanner could not start or the barcode stayed unreadable. Manual barcode entry still works.
- Use this when a current listing appears wrong, outdated, over-prioritized, disputed, or no longer source-supported. It requires the same source checks as additions.
- The camera is used to read barcodes in the browser or app. OFC does not need to store camera video to return a barcode result.
How moderation works
2026-06-22
- The numbers are internal evidence levels used to map reviewed records to public statuses.
- User submissions enter a review queue. Nothing is published or changed until a reviewer checks the source, date, company relationship, evidence category, dispute context, and whether the submission stays within OFC policy.
- OFC does not accept payments to add, remove, suppress, relabel, or prioritize records. Donors do not receive private results, faster corrections, badges, ranking influence, or evidence access. Large, restricted, or conflicted support may be declined or disclosed before acceptance.
- Submitter email is optional and used only for follow-up. Submissions and moderation records may be retained while they are needed for review, audit, abuse prevention, or correction history.
Product and ownership trace
2026-06-21
- Confirmed evidence, public context, ownership traces, source checks, and gaps are separated so you can judge the link.
- Catalog fields and public entity data can identify possible brand owners, operators, parent companies, and corporate scale. These fields are context only unless they match OFC's curated evidence.
- Simple limit: this is about documented institutional conduct. It is not a claim about identity, religion, nationality, ethnicity, founders, employees, or private people.
Product and source details
2026-06-20
- Product-identification sources
- OFC may record lookup text or barcode, found/not found status, source used, and result status to improve coverage. It should not require personal identity for ordinary lookups.
- User submissions enter a review queue. Nothing is published or changed until a reviewer checks the source, date, company relationship, evidence category, dispute context, and whether the submission stays within OFC policy.
